Red Guardian, portrayed by David Harbour in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a character with a complex and somewhat exaggerated past. First appearing in the movie *Black Widow* (2021), Alexei Shostakov, the Red Guardian, claims to be the Soviet Union's super-soldier equivalent to Captain America.
He served as a "father figure" to Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and Yelena Belova (Black Widow), as part of an undercover mission during their childhood in Ohio. While his stories of past exploits are often embellished, his immense strength and fighting skills are undeniable.
Later, he is recruited into the Thunderbolts* in the TV show *Thunderbolts***.
